Julie DeRosie wasn’t ready for a puppy when she met Remington. Within months of each other, she had suddenly lost her horse of 30 years and her chocolate Lab of 13 years. Still grieving the loss of her dog Annie, she was introduced to a 7-week-old puppy, who chose her and was just the miracle she needed.

In June of 2017, Julie and Remington became a registered therapy animal team and now share his miracle in her life with others. This fairly new team has already made milestones in their small, rural town. They routinely visit two nursing homes and also spend time volunteering at their local hospital in the physical therapy center and chemotherapy department. They’ve also started a #ReadWithMe program at their local school. The children are working so hard to improve their reading skills and Julie says there are no words to describe the joy and love for Remington in the eyes of the children. In the below photo, one child read her book, gave Remington a hug and ended up falling asleep right on his belly. A truly adorable moment! We are so glad that Julie and Remington found each other and are a part of the Pet Partners team!
